¸ñÀû: The purpose of this study is to detect the percentage of hearing loss in
patients with diabetes and to evaluate the relationship of age, duration
of diabetes and glucose control to hearing loss. ¹æ¹ý:The cross-sectional study involved 160 participants (121 males and 39
females mean age, (55.3 9.01 years) from Erdenet Medical Hospital in
2022. We analyzed serum levels glucose HbA1C% levels. The clinical
characteristics of the groups were compared using Independent Samples
test. All patients underwent clinical ear examinations and were referred
for audiological evaluation. During the patients evaluation process,
the RION AA-79 device, which is manufactured in Japan, was tested in
both ears at frequencies of 500kHz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, and 8kHz. °á°ú:23.2% of all clients had hearing loss and 76.8% had normal hearing. A
higher frequency of hearing loss was present in patients with glycated
hemoglobin levels >13%. In the multivariate logistic regression
analysis, the most important factors associated with hearing loss were
longer diabetes duration, poor glycemic control and age. In the group
with HbA1C >13% (n-17), 35.3% had hearing loss while 21.7% of
participants had hearing loss in the HbA1C< 13% group (P= 0.002). °á·Ð:Patient age and disease duration had an effect on hearing loss, and it
was notable that hearing loss was more pronounced in those with poor
glucose control. |
