Tuberculosis remains as a major health problem in the developing nations
such as the Philippines. It is a great mimicker causing clinicians
difficulty and confusion in the diagnosis of acute and chronic ear
infections. Tuberculosis is a rare cause of chronic suppurative otitis
media leading to a delay in the diagnosis.1 This case report presents a
13-year-old, male, with a four-month history of chronic ear discharge
initially managed as a case of chronic suppurative otitis media. The
patient was eventually managed surgically and was started on Anti-Koch¡¯s
regimen which eventually afforded improvement of symptoms. The purpose
of this report is to help enlighten physicians on other possible
clinical manifestation of tuberculous otitis media.
