¸ñÀû: To analyze the clinical features of sensorineural tinnitus patients who
had a complete cure after tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT) and to
identify significant factors that affect early recovery. ¹æ¹ý:A retrospective review of 710 patients diagnosed with sensorineural
tinnitus who received TRT and achieved a complete cure from 2017 to
2022 at a tertiary university hospital was conducted. Review of
records extracted important clinical features including patient
demographics, Jastebroffs tinnitus category, tinnitus duration before
consult, hearing evaluation, visual analogue scores (VAS), and
tinnitus handicap inventory (THI)
All patients underwent TRT at 3-, 6-, and 12-month intervals following
initial consultation and diagnosis. Patients were followed-up until
cured, which is defined as tinnitus heard less than five minutes a day
and a substantial decrease in tinnitus questionnaires.
°á°ú:Patients had a mean age of 5416.3 years (range: 12-92 years). There
were more females than males (n=468, 65.9% females, n=242 34.1% males).
Most of the patients had unilateral tinnitus (72.4%). Jastebroffs
category 2 (n=288, 40.6%) and category 1 (n=229, 32.3%) comprised most
of the study population. The mean cure time was 23.927.2 months (range:
1-216). Early recovery (3 months cure time) was associated with the
clinical factors of age (p=0.034) and initial VAS loudness score
(p=0.048), showing shorter cure time for younger patients and lower
initial VAS loudness score. °á·Ð:TRT is effective for patients to achieve a cure at a mean of 23.926.8
months. The clinical factors of having a younger age and a lower VAS
loudness score were associated with a complete cure within 3 months of
TRT. |
