Thyroid paraganglioma is a rare tumor that is presented as a solid hypoechoic nodule in computed tomography and ultrasonography1,2. It has no significant difference from other types of thyroid neoplasm by imaging study. In this study, we report a rare case of thyroid paraganglioma coexisting with a thyroid papillary carcinoma. A 61‑year‑old female presented with throat discomfort. Preoperative radiological studies showed a papillary carcinoma on the left thyroid gland. Left thyroid lobectomy was performed. She was finally diagnosed with both thyroid paraganglioma and thyroid papillary carcinoma through pathology and immunohistochemical staining. Currently there was no metastasis. This study presents a case of thyroid paraganglioma with papillary carcinoma and discusses their radiographic and histological characteristics.
