¸ñÀû: We investigated the predictive role of volumetric parameters measured from Fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (F18-FDG PET/CT) in patients with malignancy of nasal cavity and paranasal sinus. ¹æ¹ý:39 patients with malignancy of nasal cavity (n=16) and paranasal sinus (n=23) who underwent PET/CT prior to treatment were enrolled. A volume of interest was placed on PET/CT images covering the entire tumor volume. The maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) and volumetric parameters were measured using thresholds of both SUV2.5 and 40% of SUVmax metabolic tumor volume (MTV2.5, MTV40) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG2.5, TLG40). Recurrence free survival and overall survival was defined as the time from the diagnosis to recurrence and death. °á°ú:Median values of MTV2.5, TLG2.5, MTV40, and TLG40 were 51.9, 237.0, 15.48, and 99.0 respectively. SUVmax (p=0.0030), SUVmean2.5 (p=0.0488), and SUVmean40 (p=0.0130) were higher in patients with nodal metastasis. In univariate analysis, MTV40 was the only significant factor that predicts the overall survival (hazard ratio 7.09 1.39-36.03, p=0.03). However, none of PET parameters (SUVmax, SUVmean2.5, MTV2.5, TLG2.5, SUVmean40, MTV40, TLG40) were significant predictors of recurrence. °á·Ð:Although the MTV cannot predict recurrence, the MTV could be prognostic values associated with overall survival of patients with malignancy of nasal cavity and paranasal sinus. |
