Worldwide, people infected to human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) are increasing. As new treatment options are developed and many other treatment related research are on going, their life expectency is increasing as well. This results in total increase of HIV-positive patients and higher chance for otolaryngologists to meet HIV-positive patients. HIV infected patients have more tendency to have opportunistic infection, malignancy tumors and occasionally, otologic symptoms are accompanied. Which include chronic or(and) acute otitis, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus and dizziness. Today, the treatment options for the patients include anti-retroviral agents. Several cases of ototoxicity relating to these agents have been reported and the ototoxic effect to HIV-negative patients also have been reported. We report a 73-year-old female who has been incidentally detected as HIV-Positive, presented sudden sensorineural hearing loss after 9 months of anti-retroviral treatment.
