목적: Diagnosis related group (DRG), which had been conducted through participation by choice starting from 2002, became a mandatory enforcement that was applied to all medical institutions from the start of Jul 2013. We reviewed the changes of tonsillectomy after DRG. 방법:Based on the review of the data given by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service, we analyzed the changes of tonsillectomy from second half of 2011 to first half of 2014. (DRG was mandatorily enforced on all medical institutions from Jul 2013) 결과:On the case of general hospital, each year, the number of tonsillectomy done has decreased, but the amount of cost charged didnt change much. The cost charged for each case has increased in all medical institutions, especially in general hospitals after DRG. This trend was observable on other analysis with regions, sexes and ages. 결론:There are some causes why the overall costs of tonsillectomy was not changed after DRG. There was little parts that was uninsured before DRG. And the insured price of present is high compared with the price of before DRG, because appropriate profit was requested to medical institutions. However, this study shows only one years result so, we think that more follow-up study is needed.
