Verrucous carcinoma is a highly differentiated variant of squamous cell carcinoma with a high local recurrence rate. Few studies of primary verrucous carcinoma of the auricle have reported on the surgical outcome. We present herein a case in which a verrucous carcinoma of the auricle was successfully removed and reconstructed using a retroauricular pull-through island flap, and we briefly review the relevant literature.
