Schwannoma in the parotid gland is an uncommon tumor. Fine needle aspiration cytology was found to be inconclusive in many instances, and image studies may sometimes fail to diagnose the tumor preoperatively. When the facial nerve is involved by the tumor at the time of the operation, the surgical approach requires carful evaluation. Authors experienced six cases of benign facial schwannoma of the parotid gland from 1999 to 2013, which origin was likely to be the facial nerve. The patient's presentation and the diagnostic procedures, radiologic characteristics, surgery and the follow up procedures are discussed with review of literature.
