목적: It is well known that brow lift with aponeurotic fixation is an effective method of correcting asymmetry resulting from ipsilateral brow ptosis due to paralysis of the frontalis muscle. For enhancing the symmetry of horizontal level of eyebrow, pre-operative drawing design of brow lift is very important rather than surgical skill. In our experience, over-corrective drawing design using gravity has been most suitable method for enhancing of horizontal level of eyebrow. 방법:For the brow ptosis due to chronic facial paralysis (more than 2 years from onset of facial palsy), over-corrective drawing design was made prior to surgery in the sitting position to 12 patients with chronic facial paralysis. Upper incision line was made 2-3mm over the upper horizontal line of contralateral eyebrow and lower incision was made onto the upper horizontal line of ipsilateral eyebrow. As a rule, the surgical technique for brow lift was basically similar to ordinary surgical technique for non-paralytic patients. The clinical result after brow lift designed by over-corrective drawing using gravity was estimated by facial photo and questionnaire. 결과:All the patients who were planned to over-corrective brow lift for the management of brow ptosis were satisfied with their correction of level of eyebrow after surgery. There has been no ocular complication after surgery. . Combined blepharoplasty or gold weight implantation have been used for improvement of eyelid ptosis or eyelid closure, exhibiting satisfactory results respectively. 결론:In patients with paralysis of the frontal branch of the facial nerve associated with complete brow ptosis, direct, over-corrective blow lift can be highly recommended due to excellent cosmetic result without any complication. Surgeons can add blepharoplasty to their cosmetic armamentarium, providing their patients with desired results.
