¸ñÀû: Chronic rhinosinusitis is a heterogeneous disease, which can divide
into two subgroups chronic rhinosinusitis with polyp (CRSwNP) and
without polyps. CRSwNP can divide into eosinophilic and non-
eosinophilic type base on the histological or clinical
characteristics. This study assessed the immunopatholgic profile of
CRSwNP in adult Korean. ¹æ¹ý:Eosinophilic CRSwNP (ECRSwNP) and non-eosinophilic CRSwNP
(NECRSwNP) was determined based on the histologic and clinic
characteristics of patients. Homogenates of polyp tissue from 37
ECRSwNP, 44 NECRSwNP, and 14 normal inferior turbinate were
assayed for INF-¥ã, IL-5, IL-10, IL-17, and TFG-¥â1. Quantitative
RT-PCR was performed to determine GATA3, T-bet, RORC, Foxp3, and
RORC mRNA expression for transcription factor analysis. To
determine the remodeling features of CRSwNP, collagen type I,
fibronectin, TIMP-1, and MMP-9 mRNA and protein expression were
determined with RT-PCR and western blot. °á°ú:ECRSwNP has significantly higher level of IL-5 compared with NECRwNP and control. IL-10 and IL-17 levels were much higher in inferior turbinates than CRSwNP. However, atopic state did not influence the level of cytokine concentration. GATA3 mRNA expression was much higher in ECRSwNP. RORC mRNA expression was significantly increased in atopic nasal polyps. Collagen type I, fibronectin, and MMP-9 mRNA expression were significantly increased in NECRSwNP than ECRSwNP. And fibronectin and MMP-9 protein levels were significantly higher in NECRSwNP than ECRSwNP. °á·Ð:Based on the cytokine, tissue remodeling pattern, and transcription
factor expression, Korean ECRSwNP and NECRSwNP has different
immunopatholic characteristics. |
