¸ñÀû: Robotic thyroidectomy using various approaches has gained
popularity for patients seeking reduced neck scarring and
enhanced cosmetic satisfaction. However, the comparison of
various approaches in robotic thyroidectomy has not been done
well. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and
advantages of a gasless unilateral axillary (GUA) approach versus
postauricular facelift approach in robotic thyroidectomy. ¹æ¹ý:We retrospectively analyzed the data of 61 patients who underwent
robotic thyroidectomy with or without central neck dissection using
a GUA (43 cases) approach and postauricular facelift approach (18
cases) between Sep 2013 and Oct 2014. We excluded patients who
underwent simultaneous lateral neck dissection or cases with
completion thyroidectomy. °á°ú:Robotic thyroidectomy was successful in all patients. There were no differences in terms of patient and tumor characteristics, extent of thyroidectomy and central neck dissection, operative time, postoperative complications, and immediate postoperative pain between the two approaches. Cosmetic satisfaction was excellent in both groups. °á·Ð:The early surgical outcomes of GUA and postauricular facelift
approaches are similar. Both are safe, and yield cosmetically
excellent results. However, a GUA approach might be superior in
performing total thyroidectomy using a unilateral incision. |
