¸ñÀû: Although it is well known that Cisplatin is associated with
ototoxicity, there is
still a lack of knowledge concerning Cisplatins ototoxicity for
head and neck
cancer in Asian population. The objectives of this study is to
find the
incidence of ototoxicity and the dose of Cisplatin that causes
ototoxicty in
Japanese population ¹æ¹ý:The distortion product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) was measured 1
week
after each administration of cisplatin in 43 (32 men) japanese head
and neck
cancer patients. °á°ú:The incidence of ototoxicity detected by DPOAE was 68.2%. The averaged
DPOAE value significantly decreased in patients who received more than 200
mg/m2 of Cisplatin. °á·Ð:Cisplatins ototoxicity was detected at lower cumulative dose in
Japanese
head and neck cancer patients than that previously reported in
Caucasian
patients. The result of this study could be explain with genetic
variability. |
