¸ñÀû: Although the role of the laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) in
laryngeal
disorder pathogenesis has been emphasized, limited data exist on
the effect
of postoperative anti-reflux medication in benign vocal fold
lesion. The aim
of this study was to determine the effect of a postoperative
proton pump
inhibitor (PPI) on voice outcomes after phonomicrosurgery. ¹æ¹ý:A total of 83 patients underwent phonomicrosurgery for benign
vocal fold
lesions. Voice handicap index (VHI) and perceptual and acoustic
voice
analysis were evaluated at baseline. After surgery, patients were
randomized
to the PPI group (lansoprazole 15mg twice daily for 2 months) and
the non-
PPI group. VHI and voice analysis were also performed at 2 months
after
surgery. °á°ú:Among 83 enrolled patients, a total of 59 patients (non PPI group n=30, PPI
group n=29) completed the study. The VHI, perceptual and most acoustic
parameters significantly improved in both groups after surgery. However,
there was no significant difference in the percent of change in those
parameters. When a sub-group analysis for patients with RSI >= 13 was
performed, Jitter and Shimmer found significant improvement only in the PPI
group. °á·Ð:Postoperative PPI treatment did not significantly influence vocal
recovery
after surgery. However, postoperative PPI treatment appears to be
beneficial
for voice recovery after surgery in patients with suspected LPR. |
