The penetrating foreign body of neck is rare, but has potential to be life-threatening. Therefore, prompt diagnosis and early intervention is crucial in reducing morbidity and mortality. Recently, we experienced a rare case of penetrating metallic foreign body embedded in esophagus which was then misdiagnosed retropharyngeal foreign body. and We are reporting this case with a review of literature.
