Bee venom is a complex substance that acts on several tissues and it can cause detrimental reactions and effects. Bee stings can produce different reactions, ranging from temporary pain and discomfort to a severe allergic reaction. Although bee venom causes many adverse reactions and toxic effects, hearing loss is unusual complications of bee stings. We present here a case of a 75-year-old female abrupt unilateral sudden hearing loss, which developed one day after hornet stings. It is within this context that otologic findings in this patient of subjects will be discussed.
