¸ñÀû: Tianeptine is a kind of tricyclic antidepressant, and widely used in the treatment of major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, asthma, and irritable bowel syndrome. The object of this study was to assess the efficacy of tianeptine in the relief of tinnitus, especially patients having depressive tendency. ¹æ¹ý:We assessed the severity of tinnitus, the quality of sleep, and the depressive tendency in 15 depressed tinnitus patients using the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI), the Pittsburg Quality Index (PSQI) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Hearing impairment was evaluated by pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tinnitogram. The tinnitus patients were prescribed with stablon 12.5mg once a day for 1 month without any other drug. After 1 month, THI, PSQI, BDI were re-estimated and the statistically significant differences between pre-treatment and post-treatment were evaluated. °á°ú:In the pre-treatment state, the score of THI score were significantly correlated with PSQI and BDI score (P<0.05). This fact showed that discomfort of tinnitus, depression tendency and sleep disorder had very close relations. After the medication, tinnitus and depressive tendency were improved, which was statistically significant (THI 50.8 to 43.1, BDI 24.7 to 15.5). However, there was no statistically significant improvement in the aspect of sleep disorder (PSQI 8.4 to 7.5). °á·Ð:In the treatment of tinnitus in the depressed patients, tianeptine is an efficient and safe agent to treat both depressive tendency and tinnitus. However, in this situation, additional treatment is required to control sleep disorder.
