¸ñÀû: About more than one out of every 1000 children are born with hearing loss. Automated auditory brainstem response test is essential to screen newborns for abnormal hearing. We analyzed the hearing screening test results at Korea University Anam Hospital in 10 years. ¹æ¹ý:A total of 2890 newborns between August 2005 to January 2015 has been evaluated with hearing screening test through automated auditory brainstem response using MASTER ABaer system. Most screening tests were done within 3 days after birth. If a newborn was referred, we conducted the test again at once. When refer was shown again, the test was done within 1 month after being discharged from the hospital. The results were regarded as pass when point optimized variance ratio(POVR)>3.5 using stimulus level of 40 dB. When a newborn was referred at all 3 times of screening tests, he or she received follow-up tests including ABR, ASSR and OAE within 3 months. °á°ú:2890 newborns underwent newborn hearing screening test during 10 years. Among them, 36(1.25%) newborns were diagnosed with bilateral hearing impairment. 36(1.25%) of them were diagnosed with hearing loss at right ear, and 30(1.04%) at left ear. Those 102(3.53%) referred newborns were evaluated with additional hearing and speech tests. Also, some of them were provided with hearing rehabilitation through hearing aids or cochlear implants. °á·Ð:It has known that referral rates of Automated auditory brainstem response test is 3 to 4% as shown in BR Vohr's study. Our data showed referral rates of 3.53% accordingly. It seems that automated auditory brainstem response test has been conducted as a helpful device to screen hearing loss at early stage of newborns in Korea.
