Prevalence and Associated Factors of Laryngeal Disease Data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 20082011.

¸ñÀû: Studies on the prevalence and associated of factors related to voice disorders are rare. The purpose of the present study was to analyze the prevalence and associated of laryngeal disease. ¹æ¹ý:A cross-sectional study was conducted using data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) 20082011. Subjects consisted of 19,636 men and women aged 19 years and older. Demographic characteristics, Otolaryngologic condition, Data obtained from the questionnaire and Laboratory data was analysis and laryngology interviews and vocal fold examinations were also conducted. °á°ú:The prevalence of voice disorders was 8.12% (N = 1594). Subjective perception of the presence of voice problems was significantly higher in individuals with vocal nodules and vocal polyps (27.7% and 23.0%, respectively P < 0.001). The smoking was associated with reinkes edema (p<0.017) and vocal nodule was associated with vocal nodule (p<0.034). °á·Ð:The results of this large epidemiologic study provide valuable information regarding the prevalence of laryngeal disease, and the specific data regarding the prevalence and associated of factors related to voice disorders suggest potential ways of targeting counseling and prevention efforts to control laryngeal disease.
